Partnering with GZDOC2020
2020-08-11

GZDOC 2020 is scheduled on 14th-17th December, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, unfortunately, this edition will not be in the original form. Some of our events, if not all, will be held online. We believe that we can adapt and turn it in to an opportunity for change and innovation.

At this special moment, we would like to invite you to collaborate and to maintain the connections between our countries. Below are some of our proposed collaborations for your consideration. We could also have a further discussion on what and how works for better.

1. Call for projects

The virus has disrupted our daily life and route. We are all affected in some ways. But it also offers an opportunity to reflect on some of the fundamental beliefs and values. Too many things are worth recording and need to be remembered. We are looking for post-production documentary projects related to COVID-19 pandemic for our special pitching session. If possible, we would also help with their distribution in China or collaboration with the Chinese streaming platform. It would be great if you could send out our call or recommend some of the projects you’ve already known.

2. Collaboration on UN2030 themed programs

GZDOC would like to initiate a program to utilize the power of documentaries to promote awareness of sustainable development issues. We would like to adopt the UN Agenda 2030 as a framework and launch a five-year program to promote awareness, discussion on issues that are critical to our future. This year we plan to focus on good health, poverty, and life on planet to organize public screenings, education program and forums in December. We would like you to invite you to be a global partner of this program. Together, we could discuss and co-curate the programs and maybe co-host the world tour of the programs.

3.  Online Exposure

We would be happy to offer you online exposure in our 2020 edition, such as posting your info (logo, intro and/or short intro video) on our website/digital platform; or upload your brochure as part of the Docshop.

*more details can be discussed when we have a clearer picture how our virtual platform would be like.

You are also invited to record a short welcoming video at your local landmarks, with which we will produce a short video for our audience. *a sample video will be sent shortly.

4. Delegation discount

Your members/ delegation will enjoy a special discount for our virtual festival. You’ll get

A. A themed web page about the projects/films that your organization or members hope to promote on GZDOC homepage.

B. Listing as a delegation in all online and promotional materials.

C. Special Screenings/exhibitions of top documentary films from your country

5. Sponsored events

We are also open to collaboration on other events, such as pre-taped 25-30 min presentations of projects and master classes on a mutually agreed subject. We could also work on networking events, such as digital hangouts, 1-1 meetings and more.
