The co-produced documentary Ancient China from Above will be aired globally through the National Geographic Channel from August 1st, and will be available on iQiyi and Bilibili video platforms from August 28th.

Archaeologist Allan Maca leads a team of intrepid experts on an epic adventure to solve mysteries, explore secrets and reveal amazing wonders of Ancient China like never before. Guided by images from space, cutting-edge technology on the ground, and the very latest excavations of Chinese archaeologists, they will reveal palaces and tombs, incredible megastructures and even entire long-lost cities.

Five international directors film TV documentary about2020 Chinese college entrance examinations

A 45-minute documentary that examines China’s 2020 college entrance exams, or gaokao, from the perspectives of five directors from different countries has Chinese netizens discussing and reminiscing about the national examinations that were held this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The exams in 2020 were a huge undertaking, involving 10.71 million candidates, 400,000 examination venues and 945,000 administrators. The five directors – hailing from China, Japan, Cambodia, the US and the UK – overcame a variety of difficulties to show audiences the experiences of everyday Chinese people as students and their families prepared for the gaokao during the epidemic, according to a statement from China Review Studio, the production company behind the documentary.
